Police at Entebbe International airport have arrested Aniugo Agnes Egonna aged 76, and her daughter Aniugo Gloria Vera, 35, for allegedly being in possession of 10kgs of heroine estimated at Shs 3 billion as they tried to leave the country for Lagos, Nigeria.
Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, while parading them, said: “The duo arrived in the country on the November 20. Ms Vera had 5kgs of heroin and the mother also had 5kgs heroin, that they had concealed in their luggage bags.”
According to Mr Kayima, the duo claimed that they came to Uganda to attend their son’s/brother’s introduction ceremony which took place last week. They will soon be arraigned in court.
