For all lovers of African wind and percussion music, here’s a reason to go all lip-smacking: Mike Aremu, the spectacularly renowned of Saxophonists is sure to blaze our minds with a new album.
The album is a 16-track beauty, with a colourful choice of title, Coat of Many Colours. The planned release features a collection of different music genres ranging from Jazz, Salsa, Ballad and Afrobeat, to African Praise and Worship medleys.
And more reason to stay up with anticipation is that the album was created in SAE Studio, one of London’s vintage musical house. It will be released as a double CD, under Aremu’s label, MAV (Mike Aremu Vision) Records.
The award winning saxophonist had previously released two albums, ‘Dance’ (1999) and ‘No Shaking’ (2002) under his former label, Kennis Music.
Mike is also the convener of one of the biggest jazz concerts in Nigeria, Sax Appeal, a concept which is geared towards the rebirth and promotion of live musical performance.
